Reduce Back Orders

Back orders can be reduced via the New Snapshot option.  This has the effect of reducing the total stock to be supplied to the debtor on this order.

Where the order has no stock on back order, the New Snapshot option is not available and an error message will appear.

“ There are no outstanding back orders on this order”

 Steps

1.

Sales Order Entry Sales Order Entry Normal (Back to Back)

2.

Select sales order to be changed from the search window

3.

New Snapshot or Record, New Snapshot

A message appears on the screen

“ Modify this order and create a new Snapshot?”

4.

Yes - to confirm.
No -  to cancel the operation

5.

Manual Back Orders

6.

Reduce

Reduce the stock on back order to the new amount. (This is the only field available for edit)   An attempt to increase the amount of stock on back order will result in an error message:

“ Cannot increase the amount on back order.  Raise a new order to do that”

7.

Save changes to the sales order

A new snapshot version is created with date and time details and order line(s) adjusted where the stock on back order has been reduced.

The field History on the sales order is updated with details of stock removed from back order.

Reducing all stock on back order to NIL and saving the sales order changes the status of the order from Processed to Closed where the billing type is Ship & Bill, otherwise the form is still to be processed.
